The Social Service Outreach Program helps with crisis intervention, court advocacy, well-being checks, general domestic violence services, and crime victim advocacy services; and offers free counseling and aid to residents of the City of Rolling Meadows experiencing situations of personal or family concern. Referrals will often come from Police Officers and Firefighters, as well as personnel from the City’s Community Development Department, community agencies, schools, and hospitals; as they encounter individuals who are in need of assistance they can also make referrals. Our Social Services Outreach Specialist can also provide information about other agencies to help citizens best manage and address needs. Numerous trainings and workshops for the Spanish-speaking community about topics related to child development, self-esteem, parenting skills, and violence and abuse prevention, among others, are also provided. Our Social Services Outreach Specialist will offer follow-up services for children through high school, develop anti-gang programs providing alternatives to street crime, gang affiliations, and violent behavior for juveniles. Assistance to seniors, the mentally ill and the homeless is also provided.
