At the Diabetes Friendly Foundation, we believe that education is the key to a long and healthy life. We also recognize that the most important information is not always readily available to everyone, so we use technology as a remedy.Every year, the Diabetes Friendly Foundation hosts the “K9s for Kids” Benefit. The goal of the Benefit is to raise money in order to help families that have children with Type 1 Diabetes purchase Diabetes Alert Dogs. These magnificent dogs are trained to detect high and low blood sugar levels in their handlers and alert when such levels are reached. Diabetes Alert dogs are life truly lifesavers, and greatly increase the peace of mind to those with or affected by Type 1 Diabetes.
