The District 59 Education Foundation raises money to benefit the students in all of our schools. Teachers submit grant requests for items they need to enrich and enhance the education of their students, and based on the amount we earn through our efforts, teacher’s grants are fulfilled.  In the past the foundation has been able to provide class sets of novels, accompanist fees for choirs, audio/visual aids for classroom, art supplies, technology and many other supplies that teachers need to provide better instruction. With 62.5% of our students qualifying for “Free and Reduced Lunch”, we want to go out of our way to provide those extras to give them the best start for their bright futures. Last year we fulfilled over $16,000.00 in grants requested by teachers for their classrooms. 

          This year, our big fundraising event is called District 59’s Got Talent that will be held on April 8 at Harper College.  Two acts from each of our schools will be competing to be named the winner of this event.  In addition, we will have student art work on display to highlight the talents of our students in all the Arts. At the end of the night, winners will be selected based on their “votes”.   During the evening we will be raffling off baskets of items to raise additional funds to help fulfill the grant requests. We need your help to fill the baskets with great items we can raffle off to the attendees at this event.  

Everyone who donates will be listed in our program that evening with a special thank you from the District 59 Education Foundation.
