DOVES has provided thousands of survivors of interpersonal violence with life-changing advocacies. Advocates collaborate with survivors at the individual, as well as systems level, to maximize access to resources and supports that remove barriers to self-efficacy. The work we do requires knowledge and skill in employing trauma-informed services that are inclusive, and promote healing for survivors struggling to simply live with barriers such as: substance use, mental health issues, poverty, lack of education and employment opportunities, transportation issues associated with rural areas, and homelessness.
