Helping Restore Ability is a 501(c)3 charitable non-profit agency, a grassroots organization that was founded in 1977 upon the belief that people with physical disabilities should have the opportunity to participate fully in society and to live independent and active lives with dignity, respect, and care. Today, Helping Restore Ability maintains that very same conviction and has expanded the idea to include the entire state of Texas. Our mission is simple - to promote independence and enrich the lives of those we serve. With Helping Restore Ability's assistance, people who would otherwise be dependent on institutions for care can remain self-sufficient with dignity.Helping Restore Ability assists low income, Medicaid eligible individuals who are diagnosed with disabling conditions so they may remain in their own homes as active members of their community. Assistance for these individuals includes non-medical tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and cooking, feeding and personal hygiene.  Helping Restore Ability employs, trains, and monitors personal attendant care providers for people of all ages with any type of disability.  We serve clients throughout the state of Texas, including children and adults with mild to severe physical disabilities, cognitive disabilities, and senior citizens with age-related disabilities. Through our program services, Helping Restore Ability educates, advocates, enriches, and enables the lives of individuals who otherwise would be confined to nursing homes.
