At the Lawndale Christian Legal Center (LCLC), we provide wraparound care to youth, age 24 and under, from the west side of Chicago. This is accomplished through recognizing and supporting key areas of each youth's life. From jobs training and placement to legal representation, the participating youth is better equipped to contribute to his or her community after leaving LCLC.

Mentoring is firmly grounded in this restorative approach. LCLC volunteer mentors are friends, role models, and positive adults who walk alongside the youth through difficult and trying times. The mentoring program includes free mentor training seminars, mentor-mentee events, and direct support from the Volunteer Coordinator.

Mentors strengthen healthy mentoring relationships with their mentee through many activities including outings. These outings are invaluable in presenting youth with learning opportunities outside their respective community. The ability to explore outside the youth's neighborhood is often financially prohibitive but ticket donations provide that opportunity and are greatly appreciated.
