Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy Type 2I (LGMD2I) is a progressively debilitating disease caused by weakness and muscle wasting mainly in the shoulder and hip areas. This congenital disease is a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy. Over time, this excessive muscle wasting can result in cardiovascular, respiratory and overall physical complications typically beginning in early adolescence. 

The Brazzo Family established this fund in 2011 when their daughter, Samantha, (shown above) was diagnosed with Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy Type 2i.  To date, CureLGMD2i has provided nearly $330,000 to multiple research facilities that are currently working on discovering a successful treatment for LGMD2i. With your help, we can continue to provide scientists the financial support they need to achieve their mission of finding a cure.
