OUR CAUSE PARTNER:
South Chicago Parents and Friends, Inc.
South Chicago Parents and Friends, Inc. strives to improve the quality of life for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities, empowering them to be productive and valued members of society.
South Chicago Parents and Friends, Inc. is dedicated to improving the quality of life for persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We do this by developing options and creating opportunities which enable them to learn to the best of their ability, to live productively, to work in rewarding jobs and to value themselves and their roles in society.
In 1976, a small group of parents and friends who resided on the southeast side of Chicago recognized the need for options and opportunities for adult family members who had developmental disabilities. They sought and initiated quality programs and services that not only challenged, motivated, and inspired their loved ones, but also, helped their communities recognize, integrate, and appreciate diversity.
South Chicago Parents and Friends is a nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation that supports individuals and their families throughout southeast Chicago and the southern suburbs. The board of directors, made up of volunteers, guides the organization.
